Before joining the Fishawack editorial team, Martin gained his D.Phil. from
the University of Oxford, Department of Zoology, where he completed a
Wellcome Prize Studentship in bacterial population genetics and molecular
evolution. He then spent five years as a post-doctoral research scientist
with the Oxford Vaccine Group, in the Department of Paediatrics at the
University of Oxford. In this role he led research projects on the human
genetics of meningococcal disease and the development of novel meningococcal
vaccines. He was also involved in organising a number of clinical studies
to support these projects. During his academic career he published a number
of original research papers and presented his research at national and
international scientific conferences. Martin’s role at Fishawack is to
develop a range of editorial projects including manuscripts and meeting
materials. His therapy area expertise includes vaccinology, infectious
diseases and endocrinology.
